Well it's almost here! Philadelphia's Fashion Week! It was really nice to be up in NYC for Fashion Week, but the fact that I live in Philly and adore the local boutiques here just makes it more exciting. One of my favorites is Carmelita Couture, check out her work. Philadelphia is a city with such great history but what people don't see is just how fashion forward Philly really is. I will be attending Philly Fashion Week coming up on Friday October 8th! Here is Friday's schedule:
5:30 PM - Doors Open
6:00 PM - TNNA, a Different Fur, WeSC [DJ Ben Arsenal]
7:00 PM - Casey Alvarez Band
7:45 PM - tU pHace
8:00 PM - Kristin Simms, Project Runway Designers, NEUW, Farah [DJ Adrian Hardy]
8:30 PM - Brian Sanders JUNK
9:00 PM - Kuf Knotz
Tomorrow night Macy's is having a mini fashion show in the Wanamaker Building (where the movie Mannequin circa 1987 was filmed). I also happen to work in that building above Macy's, which is perfect for me! However, working above Macy's isn't convenient when you are drooling over Marc Jacobs bags that you can't afford on your way to get coffee in the morning. :/
Guess who is going to be at the Macy's Fashion Show? ...... Nigel Barker!!
Here is a video I found of Rumi Neely who spoke at the IFB Conference that was filmed while she prepped for her Free People October Catalog shoot. It looks like a blast! I notice her boyfriend is still the one taking her pictures which is nice. Who wouldn't love to be a featured model in Free People! So jealous!
Looking forward to hopefully meeting Nigel Barker and getting stoked for PFW! :) Get tickets now, because they are going to sell out!

After Party @ Good Units in the Hudson Hotel NYC
Well, here are all the pictures that made the cut from my trip to NYC for the IFB Conference. As you can see it was a really great time, I met a lot of people, and heard some really inspiring speeches. It was great to hear success stories from other fashion bloggers and being a fellow fashion blogger I am so proud of their accomplishments!
After a long day of speeches it was time for some cocktails and mingling. I took about 200 photos and learned so much. We also got a sweet swag bag with tons of goodies.
I am already looking forward to the IFB Conference next year! I highly recommend this conference for current fashion bloggers, or people who want to be inspired to start a blog!
One word of advice that I found to be most valuable was: "If you are passionate about what you do, others will see that and be a passionate audience." This blog is my creative outlet and it continues to motivate and inspire me everyday and I have my audience to thank for that! Love you guys!
"Be Confident With Your Personal Style & Take More Fashion Risks!"
I know it has taken me a while to post about my trip to NYC for the IFB Conference....so please don't hate. haha However, this looks like it's going to be a two part post because I have so many pictures.
When I arrived at the Hudson Hotel, which is beautiful, I was so excited. The Good Units club located in the basement of the Hudson Hotel was where the event was held. It was a pretty cool atmosphere, but it felt like we were in a dark cave from 9am-5pm. My good friend Lindsay, who is a graphic designer and photographer, met me in NYC because she wanted to be inspired to start her own blog.
I was really impressed by Lindsay's new vintage find she found at a thrift store. It was a brown leather coach bag, a legit coach bag! It is in the picture above and it's beautiful! A lot of her style revolves around vintage clothes while adding in a few new pieces. I think she has a really great sense of style and we will be seeing more of her on my blog.
Lindsay and I both wore our boots, which was not planned at all (haha). It was actually pretty chilly out that day and I wish I wore my blazer/skinny jeans and heels outfit I had originally planned. However, I went with a shirt and skirt from H&M, a belt from Target, and rocked a sophisticated side pony. :)
More pictures about the speakers and after party this week! Be sure to check back this week to see pictures of the celebrity bloggers!
A co-worker of mine was wearing a beautiful flowy floral shirt at work the other day and I had to ask her what designer created such a unique blouse? She then told me it was by Elizabeth and James and I was thinking to myself, why have I heard of that before. So when I got back to my desk of course I looked into it and remembered that it was Ashley & Mary-Kate Olsen's line! I took a look at their full line and one thing I noticed about the line was that all of the pieces were cohesive. This is something I really like to see in a collection.
As you can see a little bit of fabric goes a long way and can be incorporated into many unique pieces while maintaining a balance throughout the line. I love how the Daria Haunted Floral Top's fabric was incorporated in the Alita Ruched Floral Dress as well. Same with the feathers on the tube dress and the blazer. Really great pieces out of these two talented ladies and you can tell they added in some of their own personal style to these looks, which is great to see.
Daria Haunted Floral Top: $265
Alita Ruched Floral Dress: $445
James-Feather Peplum Blazer: $445
Plume Tube Dress: $545
P.S. My lovely co-worker Andrea was wearing the Daria Haunted Floral Top which looked beautiful on her! I would highly recommend this top! :)
P.S.S. Be sure to check back in this week for updates from my trip to NYC for the IFB Conference. I am still uploading pictures so I will be posting about it this week.

I cannot tell you how excited I am for the Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference on Thursday this week in NYC! If anyone is going please let me know, Lynzy From Skirts to Skillets has organized a blogger dinner for all of us to meet! It should be an awesome time, if I could just decide on an outfit!! It is also the start of fashion week so us fashion blogger girls have got to look good. :)

Super cute cupcake beads!
and more beads...
My girlfriend Paula and I recently attended the Beadfest Conference at the Valley Forge Convention Center in King of Prussia, PA. It wasn't the nicest of days out because by the time I got to Beadfest it started to downpour! I was soaked by the time I met my friend Paula! haha
However, we had a blast at Beadfest! There were thousands and thousands of beads, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, anything you can think of! I ended up getting a lot of great things to start my new jewelry line! I have started to put together some things and I will have to share them with you sometime this week to get all of my blog friends feedback. :)
If Beadfest comes around to your area I would definitely check it out, because it is awesome!
